Hello folks. Welcome back to the healthy recipe series for pets. One thing as a pet owner and as a pet service manager I have noticed is, there are ample of recipe and dietary supplements for dogs, but when i comes to cats very few people are concerned about their health issues especially during summers. Cats generally do not survive more than 12 percent dehydration without intensive care. In such cases, taking care of our cats along with pet dogs is of utmost importance. This time I have come up with a healthy recipe focusing on the health of cats during summers. They will keep the cats healthy, hydrated and pampered with home made complete organic food.
Ingredients:
Ingredient | Description |
---|---|
1/2 cup of canned tuna in water (drained) | Tuna is rich in protein and omega-3 fatty acids, which promote healthy skin and coat. |
1 tablespoon of unsweetened coconut cream | Coconut cream provides hydration and a tropical flavor that cats love. |
1 teaspoon of water | Used to adjust the consistency of the mixture. |
Equipment:
1. Small mixing bowl
2. Fork or spoon for mixing
3. Ice cube tray or silicon mould
Method:
Prepare the Ingredients:
- Open the can of tuna and drain the water.
- Measure out the coconut cream and water.
Mix the Ingredients:
- In the small mixing bowl, combine the drained tuna and coconut cream.
- Use a fork or spoon to mash and mix them together until well combined.
- Add a teaspoon of water to achieve a smooth consistency. The mixture should be thick but pourable.
Fill the Ice Cube Tray:
- Spoon the tuna and coconut cream mixture into the ice cube tray or silicone mold.
- Fill each compartment evenly, leaving a little space at the top.
Freeze:
- Place the ice cube tray in the freezer.
- Let it freeze for at least 2 hours or until solid.
Serve:
- Once frozen, pop out the treats from the tray.
- Offer one or two cubes to your cat as a refreshing snack.
- Watch your kitty enjoy these cool and tasty treats!
Quantity and feeding:
- Start by offering a small portion (1-2 cubes) to see how your cat likes it.
- Monitor your cat for any adverse reactions over the next 12 hours before offering a full serving size.
- Remember, these treats are meant for occasional indulgence, not daily consumption.
